Found Wondering is a book review blog that occasionally strays into commentary on publishing, society, fandom, and other book-relevant topics.
My reviews attempt to highlight plot (narrative progression for non-fiction), characters, and women's representation, as these are what capture and hold my interest in reading. Reviews are on a five star scale, in keeping with most reader-review sites.
An avid lifelong reader, I particularly enjoy modern fantasy and science fiction, although you will find me dabbling in historical fiction, history, science, mystery, biography, finance, and whatever catches my highly varied interests. Reviews of books in a series assume that you have read the earlier books. I attempt to avoid spoilers for the book being reviewed but will mark them if this is not possible.
In real life, I'm a rocket scientist, parent, spouse, crafter, and a few dozen other roles. I attempt to advocate for better acceptance and treatment of mental health disorders and evidence-based medicine. I'm especially interested in how science interacts with the general public and how people make decisions.
This blog welcomes respectful commentary and interesting questions.
